Corrupt GUI Serum

My interface is completely corrupted and cannot be rendered inside both FLStudio 11 and 12. The effect of the corruption is exactly like those old cascading windows not responding errors. This is what it looks like:

I am running windows 7 and my specs are as follows:
Intel i7 980x @3.6ghz
Radeon R390x Driver version 16.10.3
12gb 1866mhz ram

This is a gui rendering issue related to either some driver or the hardware itself. The reason I think this is because i've tried running FL12 in a VM and serum worked just fine in there. Additionally if I click the bottom part of the corrupted window where the keys are supposed to be serum plays just fine, just no GUI rendered. I've tried using multiple versions of serum in addition to the newest one and they all have the same problem on this machine. Compatibility settings on the FL do nothing.

I've tried using the newer crimson driver 17.1.1 for my gpu but that one had the same problem. I have no crashing or issues with my hardware related to faulty equipment. There are no other VSTs that have this issue as far as I've used. Also Serum has never worked for me in any version, this is the first time I use it.

Please help me sort this out as it's quite annoying at this point.

It's probably the driver, something is interrupting Microsoft Direct2D from working (between the OS and FL's provided drawing window), do you have gaming overlay software installed such as GeForce Experience?   Also make sure you are running Windows 7 SP1.

Well I just tried closing off every program that isn't critical to windows running and still no dice. Even tried it in safe mode. I am using Windows 7 SP1 with all current updates, never had any problems with direct2d programs. The vm I tried it on was also windows 7 sp1 with all updates.

Additionally, I just attempted to run this in standalone mode too first with the FL12 wrapper then the Tone2 one and both present the same issue. I guess this all points to a driver issue after all. But since my current driver won't work, and neither will the newer driver, it means I'm gonna have to try rolling back drivers. Perhaps I'll do a clean uninstall of my driver first and check to see what happens then, since the VM has no graphic drivers installed.

I'll check back and post results once I have to time to do this.

Hello! I have the same problem. Corrupted GUI. I can not solve this problem in any way.
All of the above methods failed to solve the problem

Hello, I have exactly the same problem as Slikpro with Serum in Ableton 9, I tried to move Xfer folder to C:/ as indicated but I still have the same problem..

Make sure it's no longer located in Documents/Xfer, and make sure it's exactly at C:/

That should do it, if you have purchased Serum you can contact me through the contact form and we can run diagnostics.
