Cthulhu presets: What's the relationship between notes played on a keyboard and what gets played out of Cthulhu?

For example, I press the C key on my keyboard and Cthulhu plays Amaj7. Can someone explain this relationship. I ask because if my bassline is in Cmaj, how do I know I'm playing a Cmaj chord progression

I hope this makes sense. The demo's fun but I'm not understanding how the notes relate

The default presets don't relate to the musical keyboard - it is more like ReCycle (a sliced drum loop) in the sense that playing upwards chromatically is like the original file.
However you can "learn" your own chord presets to be laid out in any way you choose. Also there are sorting options (menu) which can re-order the loaded chord slots in various ways.

Cool, this is helpful and good to know. I could always start a track with the chord presets and build my bassline etc around that.
