Cthulhu & Sonar X2

Started by sgietz

I'm interested in purchasing this plugin. It could truly jumpstart a song. Anyway, I'm using Sonar X2. I know some of the ins and outs of routing MIDI from one device to another, but it's not without headaches and I've had limited success with similar plugins. Has Cthulhu been tested with Sonar? Any tutorials/tips on making it work?

Thanks!

was wondering the same, Ive not been able to route Cthulhu to VST synth to pass chord data to VST synth.

tried enabling MIDI out on inserting Cthulhu but nothing.

prob missing something simple, however any help is appreciated

Well, here's another concern. I've heard that some people can't load presets with the 64-bit version (not just Sonar, but any DAW). I'm inclined to believe that, because I've had issues loading LFO Tool presets. It's completely random. I would add LFO Tool, go to pesets and nothing's there. I then have to delete it and add it again (sometimes 2-3 times) before the presets show up. Any thoughts on this?

the 64-bit cthulhu presets issue is fixed in the 1.01 beta (and the demo). So you can tell those people they should download the update!

the 64-bit LFOTool presets issue is actually a similar symptom but different issue, and should already be resolved in the 1.2 beta.

The culprit for me was enabling midi out of Cthulhu in Sonar X2. Right click in the synth rack and activate Enable MIDI out for Cthulhu. Then the Cthulhu midi out is available in the midi input menu of other synth and midi tracks. The 64-bit version of Cthulhu works OK here (Sonar X2 64-bit X2a).
