I've just done a reinstall, and I'm unsure if this is normal. I'm able to change it to any noise after loading Serum, but… Did it load a default noise prior to this? Just a little concerned I've knocked a screw loose.

Try this, Windows OS:
Windows Key + R (run..) and type: %APPDATA%\Xfer
delete the Serum folder there.
