Nerve questions...

Started by dhrose

Greetings Steve,
I was messing around with Nerve in the latest Tracktion 7 and a couple things I noticed. Dragging and dropping patterns, I have to turn off the sequencer to play back the patterns, which is really slow selecting the menu and  disable sequencer etc. repeatedly. I was thinking a button to turn off as there is one to turn on – the interface? Also to build patterns and test you need to put on a blank track section for playback… is there a way to add a play button on the interface to preview the patterns without having to start the DAW playback?
If I'm missing something I may have forgotten, but it seems there were midi playback notes for playback of patterns with a midi note in a clip??? Hmmm… I can't seem to find the notes. Thanks!

You can alternatively switch to a blank pattern instead of disabling the sequencer.    Nerve's transport is linked to the DAW so it is required to start playback in the DAW, you could solo Nerve's track of course.

You can switch patterns with MIDI notes (84-95).

Ha. Didn't think about that… That would work. I did (finally) find the correct note numbers for activating the patterns, so its a matter of starting with a clip in the song template initially. I've been jumping around DAWs lately so I forgot some of this stuff… Thanks!
