Nerve "Sine" Feature

I'm was wondering about the sine feature, I watched a demo video and the sine feature is used to bring out only the sine waves or remove the fundamentals completely leaving you with only the harmonics. I was telling someone about this and they were in disbelief this was possible and said that the only thing they could see that sort of resembling is that the feature essentially is using low pass filter or some sort of band pass to mask the frequencies. Is this what is happening? I don't want to ask if it's some big secret technique but my friend was in disbelief of something actually being able to remove harmonics or fundamental frequencies from a sample.

because most all drum sounds are monophonic, it is very possible. For something polyphonic to get good results, it would need to do something similar to Melodyne DNA where it attempts to identify simultaneous fundamentals.

Your friend is welcome to download the demo and play with it himself!

Thanks for responding so quickly, and for not pointing out my horrible grammar. You are appreciated dearly.
