Hello I'm asking for advice on how to get Serum 2 to work on FL (Fruity Edition), I'm using a Windows 10 PC and I've legit tried locating the Installer into my FL VST folders, I've installed it into "Common Files" on the main "Windows (C:)" archive, pinned these exact folders on the scan yet no Serum 2 file gets found on my scans….

Did I need the original Serum before getting the upgrade?

Pls let me know if anyone has had this issue and worked it out, as ngl I'm regretting wasting over £145 over a VST that don't work^^…wish they'd issue refunds for cases like this

That's odd,
the installer would create a VST file into the correct folder and your DAW should find the .VST file easily ,
C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins\
C:\Program files\Steinberg\VstPlugins\
C:\Program files\Common Files\VST2.

and no you don't need a previous version.

By default it was installed to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Serum2.vst3\Contents\x86_64-win" for me, make sure your plugin manager is scanning "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3".

If it isn't, you can click the folder icon with the "+" on it and manually add the directory to scan.

Alternatively, go to C:\ and search for "Serum2.vst3" and then right click -> copy as path and then add that to your plugin manager scan library.

If the directory is already being scanned, uninstall, reboot and install again.

Having this same issue on FL. Serum 2 is installed to the proper directory and I did everything the replies to this post said. Still not showing up in the scan. Granted, I am using FL 12, but all my other VST3s work with no issues. Restarted and reinstalled multiple times, still have not found a solution.

I'm having the same problem, I have installed serum 2 onto the correct folder where all of my other VST3 plugins are and I can see the Serum 2 file. Yet when I try to scan it into FL studio 20 then it doesn't scan and I cannot access or see serum 2 in my plugin manager. I thuoght this could be an issue with the pathways so I tried installing the demo, that didn't work either. I tried installing a different VST3 plugin and that worked completely fine. The original serum scans how it should, but my serum 2 is not wanting to scan. :(

Having same issue. Perhaps its an issue with FL Studio 12. My original Serum works just fine, but can't seem to get FL to recognize Serum 2 as a plugin.

I had the same kind of issue. It found it in scans but brought up a black screen on serum. I had to install it to a different drive
