Hi, I've been trying to work with Serum 2, but there are some Presets that completely overloads the CPU of my PC, I don't know if it is my PC or Serum 2, my computer is a MacBook Pro 2019, if someone can help by telling me what can I do I would appreciate it, thanks!

Same here. So many sounds overload my CPU after just a few seconds of play. Nothing from serum 1 does this.

Please let us know which presets are causing issues on your systems, so that we can identify which areas need optimization.

For presets that are not part of the default install, a screenshot of the main GUI page would give us a rough idea of what features are in use.

Information about your system would be useful - i.e. what CPU do you have?

Pay attention to the voice count display in the bottom-right of the GUI. With higer unison or grain counts and long release times, the number of active unison voices can get very high and eat up a lot of CPU.

Every feature enabled (e.g. adding more modulation, warps, etc.) adds extra processing and CPU usage.

Some features, especially Granular (and its "Loop Grains" option) and Spectral oscillator types, are quite demanding and work best on modern CPUs such as Apple's M-series or other CPUs with equivalent or better single-core performance.

Some of the "new" filter types in S2 can also be a lot more demanding, as they use more accurate (and demanding) hardware models.

An M1 MacBook Pro has great performance in our experience, with a single-core score of 2360

The latest and greatest CPUs score over 3300

Note that Geekbench scores measure lots of things so should only be taken as a rough guide when it comes to Serum 2 performance.

In my case, it seems like most of CPU hungry presets are those with Convolve. When bypassing Convolve, the cpu meter of those presets decreases considerably in most of time.
